1. Who this policy covers
This policy applies to the Canvas Node application for macOS, provided by Astro Vedangam Private Limited. It does not replace the separate privacy policy that applies to the company website or other products and services.
2. Information Canvas Node collects
Astro Vedangam does not collect personal data through Canvas Node. The app does not require an account, include advertising, use third-party analytics or create a profile about you.
Boards, autosave copies, presenter notes, imported images, exports and recording segments are processed and stored on your device or in a folder you select. They are not uploaded to Astro Vedangam.
3. Camera and microphone
Canvas Node can request camera and microphone access when you choose to record a lesson. This access is optional and controlled through macOS permissions. Audio and video are processed on your Mac to create your local recording and are not transmitted to Astro Vedangam.
4. Files, exports and recovery
Canvas Node accesses only files or folders you choose through the system file picker, along with its own local application storage used for preferences, autosave and crash recovery. You control exported PNG, PDF and MP4 files and are responsible for how you share or back them up.
5. App Store purchase
Canvas Node is sold as a paid app through the Mac App Store. Apple processes the purchase and does not provide Astro Vedangam with your payment-card details. Canvas Node does not include advertising or an in-app subscription. Apple handles App Store transaction information under its own privacy policy.
6. Diagnostics
Canvas Node does not contain a third-party crash-reporting or analytics SDK. Apple may provide developers with aggregated diagnostics or crash information when a user has chosen to share analytics with app developers in device settings. Such reports are used only to improve reliability and are not used for advertising or profiling.
7. Retention and deletion
Because app content is stored locally, you can delete boards, exports and recordings from your device at any time. Uninstalling Canvas Node removes data held inside the app container, subject to operating-system backup behaviour. Files exported to other folders must be deleted separately.
8. Children
Canvas Node is a general teaching and whiteboard tool and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. A teacher or guardian remains responsible for lesson content and any files they choose to create or share.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when Canvas Node features or legal requirements change. The effective date at the top of this page will identify the latest revision.
